    About the Author

    During his postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Robert Friis, PhD, received his doctorate from Columbia University. A Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology was obtained from the University of California at Berkeley. Epidemiology is his area of expertise, having taught and conducted research for over three decades. The former professor was an assistant professor of epidemiology at Columbia University School of Public Health, an assistant professor of pediatrics and community health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and an assistant professor of health science at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Afterwards, he served as a public health official in Orange County, California. In later years, he joined the faculty of the University of California, Irvine’s departments of medicine, neurology, and social ecology. Currently, he serves as Professor and Chair of the Health Science Department at California State University, Long Beach. More than 50 professional and scientific articles have been published by him, and he has been involved in a number of epidemiological research projects. A member of the American Public Health Association and the Society for Epidemiological Research, he is also an expert on epidemiology. Additionally, he teaches Community and Environmental Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. In a short video on Video Jug, the author presents himself as an expert in epidemiology.

    Dr. Thomas A. Sellers earned a PhD in epidemiology from Tulane University and has postdoctoral experience in genetic epidemiology. University of California at Davis, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Community Nutrition. He was on faculty at the University of Minnesota for nine years, teaching the introductory epidemiology course for non-majors. Associate Center Director at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, University of South Florida, he works on cancer research. More than 150 articles, letters, and book chapters have been published by Dr. Sellers with a primary focus on cancer etiology.
